"It has also been hard to balance work and school and have reliable technology... I was worrying and trying to figure out how I would make everything work, especially around the holidays." -Technology Kit recipient.

Thanks to our partnership with Smart City PDX and their Technology Kit program, we could help our participants cross that digital divide during one of the most stressful times of the year. POIC + RAHS families, trainees, and students who needed a stable internet connection can breathe a sigh of relief.

Last week the final batch of Chromebooks with LTE connectivity and financial assistance was distributed, which will cover the cost of a year of Internet service to participants in most need of internet access. The distribution was a broad organizational effort that involved pinpointing the correct method or device for each individual and their family to ensure lasting connectivity and security. To support cases like that of a RAHS student in an unstable living situation, each device comes with the capability to be connected to the internet no matter where the student is, assuring that their schoolwork stays on track. This device assistance makes all the difference, and we are so grateful to Smart City PDX for helping us get more people in our community connected.
