A Remarkable First Season: Rosemary Anderson Prep Prospects Women’s Volleyball Team

The inaugural season for the Rosemary Anderson Prep Prospects women’s volleyball team in Portland, Oregon, has come to an end, leaving a trail of memorable moments, incredible achievements, and a strong foundation for the future. As we look back, we celebrate the perseverance, skill, and growth of these young athletes who have made their mark on the court and in the community.

Early Triumphs and Close Calls

The season kicked off with high expectations and a series of intense tournaments. Early on, the team demonstrated their potential by advancing to the championship match in a challenging bracket. Despite falling just short with scores of 22-25 and 20-25, the performance was a testament to their hard work and determination.

Coach LaToya Harris-Alexander’s pride was evident as he reflected on the team's growth: “We are getting closer to the end of the season and I cannot be any prouder of how these young ladies have represented Rosemary Anderson on and off the court. We have fans from other programs, received multiple compliments of how we are a great team and fun to watch.”

Dominating Performances

As the season progressed, the Prospects only got stronger. In a notable tournament, they showcased their dominance by finishing first and beating every team convincingly. This victory was a significant milestone, highlighting the team’s improvement and the effectiveness of their training.

Coach LaToya expressed her gratitude for the unwavering support from the staff and fans, noting, “North Campus teachers and staff show up and show out, and the girls greatly appreciate all of the support.”

The journey was not without its challenges. One particularly grueling day saw the team play four matches back-to-back, pushing their limits. Despite the exhaustion, the Prospects showcased their resilience by winning crucial matches and earning a spot in the gold bracket.

Nearing the End

In the regional tournament, the Prospects had a slow start but bounced back to win the silver bracket, finishing 3-0 on the final day. This performance exemplified their ability to overcome adversity and rise to the occasion when it mattered most.

The Final Battle

The season concluded with a challenging final tournament where the team played for third place. Despite their best efforts and fighting spirit, the Prospects finished fourth out of 20 teams. The emotional end saw tears and triumphs as the team reflected on their incredible journey.

Coach LaToya summed up the season's end with heartfelt pride. “I cannot express how proud I am of these young ladies. The impact we have made in Oregon and Washington has been mind-blowing.”
